Assist and accelerate the development of Values Shaping Ministries: those which do evangelism and discipleship in a ministry environment that shapes Kingdom Values and builds leaders who both embody a Kingdom Culture and possess the wisdom and ability to help create and sustain it.
What is the Hope Global Network?
The Hope Global Network (HGN) is a network of ministries (churches, student ministries and other ministries) who developed as Values Shaping Ministries.
HGN was established in 2003 to formalize an informal network, whose leaders had been influenced (directly and/or indirectly) by the ministry of Hope Church in Fort Worth, Texas. These leaders had profited from the wisdom, experience and insight of Harold Bullock, founding and senior pastor of Hope Church. Many of the leaders had directly experienced the culture and training model at Hope.
Since the early 1970s, hundreds of ministry leaders have benefited from the teaching, training, coaching and mentoring they have received from Harold Bullock. Many of those ministry leaders (now pastors, church planters, student ministry directors, denomination and association directors, missionaries, etc.) have taken the tools and experiences learned from Bullock to create, start, catalyze and/or further develop hundreds of ministries worldwide. As a result, thousands around the world have been impacted.
What is the Hope Global Network trying to accomplish?
In the most general sense, the Hope Global Network is working to help churches fulfill the Great Commission.
“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” Matthew 28:18-20
As the American culture is shifting further away from Biblical values, HGN wants to help foster a spiritual awakening through building Values Shaping Ministries.
This is accomplished by:
- Providing conferences for church and ministry leaders on how to develop Values Shaping Ministries.
- Coaching pastors and ministry leaders in building Values Shaping Ministries.
- Developing Christian training materials for use by local churches.
- Organizing and packaging the work of Harold Bullock for use by ministry leaders.
In order to build a Kingdom Culture (churches and ministries trying to treat each other like scripture says and working together in a way that expresses who Christ is) we focus on certain key commands that represent high values in the New Testament. We call the key commands “Heart Attitudes,” since one need not merely do the actions, but have the values grow in his or her heart. There are seven Heart Attitudes that have greatly shaped the culture of many churches in the Hope Global Network.
